This is information to help the community understand their connection with the life cycle of Pease Mountain.

The rotting logs are important to trees because they help make the soil.  The trees are important to people because they make the oxygen so we can breath.  People need to respect rotting logs on the mountain so they can make soil so the trees keep making oxygen for us.

The trees provide habitats for animals, food and materials.  The trees also filter pollution and help prevent erosion.  This is why we need to take care of our mountains.
